About Us

For over 35 years, The What? Centre has been providing counselling and advice services to the young people of the Dudley Borough. In 2019, The What? Centre was awarded the Public Health funded initiative, with the primary aim of HIV prevention, early diagnosis of HIV and supporting people living with HIV, their families, partners and carers. The What? Centre also specialises in supporting the LGBTQ+ community through our youth and adult services.

We have a very good reputation in the local community and deal with a high demand of referrals directly from GPs, CAMHS, hospitals, parents and carers, and self referrals.

The centre is a registered charity No.1064579 and all funds are by way of service level agreements, contracts, funding applications and donations. The centre holds contracts with the CCG and Public Health, and holds a number of other contracts through successful funding bids. However, demand always outstrips the funding available, so donations are always gratefully received.
